Tuesday, March 13: Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus
“Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the Cross.”
I was thinking back to fifteen years ago when I was watching a TV program. Franklin Graham came on and promoted Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.
“Lift high his royal banner; it must not suffer loss.”
And I thought, what a great idea for St. Paul to get involved. As I watched the children receiving a shoebox filled with toys, books, soap etc., I thought, what a way to stand up for Jesus and spread his word through this program with his message of love.
“From victory unto victory his army he still leads, till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.”
Operation Christmas Child started in 1993. As of 2017, over 145 million boxes have been given to 150 countries for children, and delivered by car, boat, rowboat, air, camel, donkey, wagon, horseback, etc; going even to countries that do not want the Jesus stories spread through their lands.
But Operation Christmas Child has prevailed, showing that Jesus is Lord.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for the program Operation Christmas Child. Let it continue in the years ahead to spread the Gospel throughout the world, to overcome obstacles and preach your Word. Amen.
