Christmas Pageant and Lessons and Carols Service – Dec. 17

On Sunday, December 17, St. Paul will celebrate both with the children’s Christmas pageant and a service of Lessons and Carols.

The Christmas pageant is presented at 2:00 pm by St. Paul’s children, with a script written by member Sarah Papin. It is a humorous look at the Christmas story and should be great fun for all ages.

The Service of Lessons and Carols will begin at 3:00 pm. (You might be familiar with the Lessons and Carols service from King’s College Cambridge, which is broadcast on NPR – ours is in a similar format, but with congregational hymns instead of choir anthems.) We will sing favorite Advent and Christmas hymns, enjoy organ and orchestral music, and hear readings from the Old and New Testaments prophesying Jesus’ birth. Cocoa and cookies will follow the service.
