Virtual Hymn Sing of “Joyful, Joyful”!

St. Paul Lutheran Church Congregation,

As promised, I am reaching out to everyone for our very first “Virtual Hymn Project”. We all know that Lutherans love to sing! My hope is that this recording project will involve everyone… that means you!

Deadline for submitting recordings is August 14th with a final goal of sharing our first Virtual Hymn Project during the August 23rd worship service.

When submitting your recording there are several ways to do so. As I briefly mention in the video you can text or email me the file. This can typically be done within the recording app itself. If you are unsure and need help, please give me a call. I will be glad to walk you through it over the phone. Some of you are more familiar / comfortable with sharing digital files over a cloud storage source like, DropBox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. Feel free to do so. Once you have the file uploaded, send me a link in an email or text and I’ll take it from there.

Please find below all information you will need to get started and to finish your recording for this project. The first video below is a short 5 minute video covering details of how to make your recording. In the video I refer several times to using an iPhone. Your recording can be made using any smart phone or digital recording device. Most phones have a “Voice Memo” or recording app that will work fine for this project.

The recording of the organ is next. When making your recording it is important to use a pair of head phones or ear buds. This way you can listen to the audio recording of the organ while singing and recording just your voice. If you do not have head phones or ear buds, feel free to record yourself and the organ. It is preferred to use head phones, but fine if not available.

Below is the sheet music itself. It is a PDF copy of the music. I recommend you print it out and use it while singing.

If you can not print it, write the lyrics out on a separate piece of paper. All three verses will be sung.

Sing unto the Lord…
God bless,
Kris Keith
