Lenten Midweek Services

March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29
7:00 p.m.

In-person and livestreamed

Join us each Wednesday in Lent for a variety of evening services. This is a great opportunity to slow down and connect with God at the end of a busy day. Each service will be preceded by a soup-and-salad potluck at 6 pm.

March 1 Vespers Vespers is the evening service of the daily prayer of the Church, traditionally prayed at “lamp-lighting time” (early evening).
March 8 Holden Evening Prayer This service, composed by Marty Haugen, comes from Holden Village, a Lutheran renewal center in the Northern Cascades. It is also a service designed to help us pray at the end of the day.
March 15 Compline From the Latin word for “complete,” Compline is the last of the traditional hours of the daily prayer of the Church, prayed before going to sleep.
March 22 Healing Service Focuses on God’s healing for all those who are suffering. The congregation is invited to receive anointing with oil and laying on of hands, if they wish.
March 29 Stations of the Cross The service of Stations of the Cross is adapted from the traditional devotions observed by pilgrims to Jerusalem, who follow Jesus’ footsteps through the city in the last days before his crucifixion.
