Dorcas
The Dorca's Circle makes quilts which are distributed throughout the world by Lutheran World Relief. These quilts provide a valuable resource to those who have little to nothing. The quilt can serve as shelter from sweltering heat or incessent rain, clothing, a suitcase to carry all of your worldly belongings. Refugees tell many stories about how valuable these quilts can be beyond providing warmth.
The Dorcas women welcome members of all ages who are interested in quilting to join them in this mission endeavor. They meet once a month on the third Wednesday of the month.
If you are interested in assisting with the Dorca's Circle or would like more information, please call the church office at 513-821-0987. |

This is a group of women who meet once year-round to assemble quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
No experience is necessary since there is something everyone can do. We have varrious work stations.
1) Squares are carefully marked and cut, and these are very nicely arranged and sewed together at home by on of the women for twin-size tops;
2) The next station assembles the quilt tops with a liner and a coordinated back.
The edges are trimmed, turned and pinned; |
3) The women at the next station knot thequilts with yarn or embroidery thread; |
4) At the last station the women machine stitch the quilts around the outside edges. |
Every fall, the quilts are boxed and taken to the Dayton area from where they are taken to the Lutheran World Relief warehouse.
The LWR then distributes them to the destitute of many different countries of the world.
We make an average of over 100 quilts a year.

The Dorcas Circle ladies meet every 3rd Wednesday from 9a.m. to 2:30 pm.
They bring their own lunch for the noon break. We do work hard, but anyone who is interested is welcome to join us for fellowship and the joy and satisfaction of working together in this work of the church. |
